Reelmaster® 5010-H (03950)

The Reelmaster® 5010-H is the industry’s first and only fairway mower with a true hybrid drive system. The Reelmaster® 5010-H utilises a Kubota® 24.8 hp diesel engine in concert with an in-line motor generator and a self-recharging 48-volt battery pack to provide seamless power to the vehicle and cutting units. The combination of these two power sources comprises Toro’s patented hybrid power delivery system called PowerMatch™. PowerMatch enables the Reelmaster® 5010-H to match the power generated to the power required for all cutting conditions. The result is the availability of over 40 horsepower, but only when cutting conditions require it, which saves on average 20% fuel usage, improving operating costs, and the vehicle’s carbon footprint.

The Dual Precision Adjustment (DPA) cutting units - featuring Toro’s EdgeSeries™ reels combine to deliver a consistent, high quality cut and superior after cut appearance, while reducing maintenance with improved reel edge retention.

With Smart Power®, E-Pedal traction drive control, switch-activated cruise control, electronically controlled hydrostatic pump and automatic, spring-applied parking brake, the Toro Reelmaster® 5010-H delivers unsurpassed performance and unmatched quality of cut.

Hybrid Technology with PowerMatch™ System

Hybrid Technology with PowerMatch™ System

PowerMatch – Matches machine power output to what the conditions require. When hilly terrain and challenging mowing require more power than the 24.8 hp engine can provide, the Reelmaster 5010-H sheds the cutting unit load from the engine to the battery pack. If even more power is required, the battery pack boosts the engine power, giving the machine the equivalent of over 40 horsepower.

48 Volt Battery Pack

48 Volt Battery Pack

The battery pack is made up of four, 12-volt, Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries that are maintenance-free and sealed. The batteries are very similar to the ones used in the automobile industry for start-stop hybrids. These batteries are designed for a very long life when they are shallowly discharged and repeatedly recharged with a system like our PowerMatch™. Depending on usage, the life expectancy will vary, but in an average golf course duty cycle, the battery pack can be expected to last years of operation.

Smart Power®

Smart Power®

Automatically adjusts the mower’s ground speed for the terrain and cutting conditions to protect the electric reel drive components and maintain desired reel speed, taking the guesswork out of a consistent cut.

Electronic Cruise Control

Electronic Cruise Control

Easily keep a consistent speed and reduce fatigue while mowing large areas.

Electric Motors on The Cutting Units

Electric Motors on The Cutting Units

Removing the hydraulic cutting mowers and replacing them with electric motors on the Reelmaster 5010-H resulted in over 100 fewer leak points than a conventional 254 cm fairway mower. The remaining vehicle and cutting unit lift system hydraulic lines are predominately hard lines or hoses with limited movement, and are not subject to the same fatigue or service intervals as the cutting unit hoses and motors. As the electric reel circuit requires no scheduled maintenance, it further reduces the cost of ownership.

Efficient Reel Performance

Efficient Reel Performance

Consistent reel speed - the electric reel motors allow for precise setting of the clip and consistent power across all five cutting units for a superior cut. The cutting units also feature low-drag seals and low-friction bearing which improve wear and reduce the required horsepower to run the decks.

Cutting Units with EdgeSeries™ Reels

Cutting Units with EdgeSeries™ Reels

Precision machined cutting units maintain levelness and hold adjustments. Dual Precision Adjustment (DPA) allows quick bedknife to reel adjustment. New style cutting units, which feature low-friction seals and bearings on the reels,  further reduce power demands and increase fuel efficiency. Toro’s EdgeSeries™ reels enable longer edge retention thus reducing grinding and backlaping.

Precision Control

Precision Control

The InfoCenter display makes maintenance and diagnostics quicker and easier for technicians. The onboard LCD display provides system information alerts, service reminders, diagnostics, fault codes and vehicle and cutting unit adjustments that are easy to see and understand. Precisely control reel speed and clip rate, monitor reel performance and view reel diagnostics with the onboard InfoCenter™.
